DIAMOND. Revealing fair and actionable knowledge from data to support women´s inclusion in transport systems
DIAMOND project will help to create fairer and more inclusive transport systems, taking into account specific physical, emotional and social gender characteristics in the design of products and services, and by fostering female employability in the industry.
Objetivos
DIAMOND's main goal is to turn data into actionable knowledge with notions of fairness, in order to progress towards a more inclusive and efficient transport system from a gendered perspective. This objective will be achieved by the development of a methodology based on the collection and analysis of disaggregated data, including new sources, analytics and management techniques. Thus, this allows to identify, design and evaluate specific measures for fulfilling the needs and expectations of women as users of different transport modes and as jobholders in the sector. The knowledge gathered in the data analysis will then be fed into a toolbox that will provide recommendations on how to achieve fair inclusiveness for women in each of the identified use-cases.
Therefore, based on above, DIAMOND aims at achieving a TRL7 system prototype demonstrated in relevant environment at the end of the project, after testing and validating tools in the 4 use-cases.
One of the use-cases, Autonomous vehicles, will be led by IBV. The Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV) will explore emotion in autonomous vehicle following a user-centred approach. With an active participation of potential users, IBV will perform focus groups and will create driving scenarios in a driving simulator, in order to get data from drivers emotional state through physiological variables and questionnaires. These tests will feed the DIAMOND model and be enriched with data from other sources.
As a technological centre, IBV will develop scientific and technological knowledge in the field of affective design for the automotive sector. The results will be exploited to provide R&D and consultancy services to OEMs and TIER1 companies, willing to address the development of empathic trip experience.
