INtelligent system to empower Functional Independence of people with mild cogNItive impairmenTs

INFINITy will enhance the knowledge regarding the transition from MCI to an early stage dementia, since MCI is considered as a prodromal stage of dementia disease. The INFINITy solution will assess different indicators that could be predictors of cognitive issues, early behavioural changes and navigational impairments.

Objetivos

In order to meet its objectives, INFINITy sets up a technical infrastructure to provide the following functionalities:

1. Support elderly people with cognitive impairments in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.

2. Monitor user activities in an unobtrusive way.

3. Enable easy, transparent and contextualize access through the INFINITy integrated application.

INFINITy comprises three main phases for development. Phase 1 focused on the combination of the INFINITy components into integrated services (WP2), followed by Phase 2 that deals with the execution of onsite testbeds for system validation (WP3). Onsite testbeds will have a duration of 7 months starng with a pre-test in order to ensure that the system is ready and suitable for users. Afterwards, a 5 months testing will be conducted with a preparatory phase where participants will be trained in the use of INFINITy; and a 3 months of testing in real-life conditions. Finally, Phase 3 deals with education and training activities, as well as business oriented actions related to the commercialization and exploitation of the INFINITy product (WP4, WP5).
