MANufacturing through ergonoMic and safe Anthropocentric aDaptive workplacEs for context aware factories in EUROPE (MAN-MADE)
Currently, factories do not take into account workers’ characteristics, skills, needs and capacities when placing them in a physical workplace, nor all their knowledge and experience in organising tasks and planning production. Workers’ human potential should be put to good use for the factory to not only work better from the point of view of production, but also from the perspective of health and safety, integrating all of it within the company’s social context.
Aims
The MAN-MADE project’s main goal is based on defining a new model of socially sustainable workplace where the human dimension is a key concept. Workers are at the heart of the factory on the one hand from the point of view of adaptation of the workplace (and planning complete production) to each worker’s skills, experience and characteristics; and on the other from the point of view of capacity/aptitude to make the most of the knowledge and potential of workers of all ages and profiles of workers, at the same time as improvements in safety are being fostered.
Moreover, MAN-MADE promotes a vision of effective integration of this anthropocentric factory within the social atmosphere by implementing context-aware factories that foster and take advantage of the services given to workers in terms of accessibility, inclusion, conciliation between work and family life, and occupational satisfaction.
