Our MOVE4D technology present in the Canadian Institut for Safety, Wellness and Performance’s new lab

Conestoga College is pushing the research envelope in workplace safety with the launch of two state-of-the-art research labs under the Canadian Institute for Safety, Wellness & Performance (CISWP). At the forefront is the STRIDE lab, featuring Canada’s first 4D body scanner available from 15 October, a breakthrough IBV technology that is poised to revolutionize the design of personal protective equipment (PPE), particularly for women in the skilled trades.

The IBV’s technology incorporated in this new laboratory is MOVE4D a unique European technology, allowing researchers to collect precise anthropometric data from Canadian workers. This data includes both static and dynamic measurements, capturing how bodies move in real-world work scenarios.

MOVE4D is a dynamic body scanner combined with automatic processing software for the generation of watertight digital human models and counterparts, and will help in their research, which will enable them to design more inclusive personal protective equipment (PPE), especially for women in skilled trades.

In addition to the STRIDE lab, Conestoga College introduces the START lab, which will allow researchers to study various dimensions of human performance to identify and mitigate injury risks.
