Snapshot of transport by bus in the province of Valencia

The study Snapshot of Transport by Bus in the province of Valencia is the result of a project by ADIVA. It was carried out by the Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV) in collaboration with the Valencia regional government’s Infrastructures and Transport Department (Conselleria de Infraestructuras y Transporte de la Generalitat Valenciana) with the aim of analyzing how users perceive the short and long-distance bus transport service in the province of Valencia.

Aims

The study intends to identify the steps needed to adapt transport to the users’ needs and thus be able to provide a better service.

IBV’s People-Centered Design method was applied for this reason. It combines specialized tools, technology and resources to develop products, services and environments with a design that sparks a favorable, satisfactory or pleasurable response from the consumers.

The publication includes the content of the final report, which describes the results from the qualitative and quantitative analysis as well as the strategic lines to improve the bus as a means of metropolitan transport.
